Overview

At the time of the event, 40% of the time allocated for Aviation to achieve the voluntary targets set out in the ACARE 2020 framework will have elapsed. This symposium will explore the developments which aircraft propulsion systems have made towards the overall targets to date.

Focusing specifically on the global public concern of global warming via increased carbon dioxide emissions, the event will present developments towards higher thermal and propulsive efficiency propulsion systems.

Delegates and presenters from a range of industrial signatories to ACARE will share knowledge gained to date from a selection of research & technology projects at both UK and EU levels, e.g., EFE, NEWAC, ECATS.

  • Delegates will receive a briefing on the background to the ACARE targets
  • Delegates will obtain a progress report on what areas of activity have been underway towards identifying the technologies needed to achieve the ACARE goals
  • Delegates will receive an indication of what is yet to be achieved in the remaining 12 years up to the ACARE target date.
