Compliance with the ATEX directives has been mandatory for new equipment since June 2003, and for existing equipment since July 2006. There is still a great deal of uncertainty surrounding this legislation and its impact on design, testing, certification and operation of equipment in potentially explosive atmospheres for both users and manufacturers.
This seminar will re-visit the legislation and discuss topics that still cause concerns, including; zoning, legal responsibility, old machinery, second hand machines and small vessels. It will also look at the future of ATEX and how it may develop in the coming years.
- Obtain information to provide clarity for the ATEX directive which continues to be confusing to many companies
- Gain information relating to some of the more difficult areas of the legislation
- Ensure that engineers and their companies comply to the current legislation
- Get an overview on the current ATEX/DSEAR legislation for both manufacturers and users of equipment in potentially explosive atmospheres
- Identify the cost benefits of correct zoning
- Understand the route to compliance for old/second hand machinery
- Learn the current thinking on explosions in small vessels
- Learn from others experience via case studies
- Find out about the future of ATEX
