Conserve energy, reduce harmful emissions and improve safety – all at the same time. A huge challenge, where braking has a considerable part to play.
More-effective braking is crucial. To maximise effectiveness, braking systems cannot be considered in isolation.
Braking 2009 will address the interactions between vehicle braking, steering, handling etc – particularly in emergency conditions – which are leading to the development of integrated brake assist systems. As well as improved safety, drivers are demanding better comfort, and a smoother drive, with no unwanted noise or vibrations.
This conference will concentrate on meeting each of these challenges, all at the same time, while reducing operating costs and improving reliability. The insights on show will be equally helpful to road, rail and aerospace braking systems.
