S1376 - Pipework Integrity: Legislation, Experience and Life Extension

1 day Seminar | Completed
Wednesday 29 October 2008

Institution of Mechanical Engineers
1 Birdcage Walk
London
SW1H 9JJ United Kingdom

Overview

The integrity of pipework is of paramount importance to the safe and effective operation of plant. Conversely, economic pressures demand that a large amount of pipework must remain in use well beyond its original design life.

Industry must learn from previous failures and incidents. This can only be done by sharing knowledge and experience of leading operators and improving awareness of the significant impact that changes in legislation will bring.

This seminar will provide a forum to discuss these issues. Operators within the process, oil and gas, power, and chemical industries will present their experiences. The UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) will provide input on the legislative issues and their implementation.
