Overview

Current and future technology for foreign-object impact of energy-absorbing structures

Impact loading, in its various forms, presents a complex design challenge not only for aviation but for other transport sectors (road, rail and sea). This seminar aims to draw together cross-sector experience and expertise to explore the state-of-the-art developments in materials technology, simulation techniques and design which together will enable more cost-effective solutions for aircraft and other transport structures which are susceptible to impact, blast or crash loading.

Attending this event will help you:

  • Update knowledge of the latest developments in design for impact
  • Hear about practical design solutions from a range of sectors
  • Improve safety of aircraft and other forms of transport
  • Apply knowledge from other industries to aviation, and vice versa
  • Reduce cost of maintenance and inspection
  • Use new materials to improve design solutions
  • Implement improved modelling techniques in design

Who should attend

Design, development, research and manufacturing engineers, project managers, chief engineers and consultants in the aerospace and other transportation industries as well as academics.
