Current and future technology for foreign-object impact of energy-absorbing structures
Impact loading, in its various forms, presents a complex design challenge not only for aviation but for other transport sectors (road, rail and sea). This seminar aims to draw together cross-sector experience and expertise to explore the state-of-the-art developments in materials technology, simulation techniques and design which together will enable more cost-effective solutions for aircraft and other transport structures which are susceptible to impact, blast or crash loading.
- Update knowledge of the latest developments in design for impact
- Hear about practical design solutions from a range of sectors
- Improve safety of aircraft and other forms of transport
- Apply knowledge from other industries to aviation, and vice versa
- Reduce cost of maintenance and inspection
- Use new materials to improve design solutions
- Implement improved modelling techniques in design
Design, development, research and manufacturing engineers, project managers, chief engineers and consultants in the aerospace and other transportation industries as well as academics.
