What do people understand by reliability – how does it relate to engineering work?
Reliability is a word that is frequently used but – what is meant by it? Is it just a sub-set of maintenance? Can it be measured in a way that is relevant to my particular industry and if so, how? How do I specify reliability from a supplier? How can I demonstrate that I have achieved the full reliability potential of my goods and services and what is a “reasonable expectation”? How do I construct and maintain a reliability case?
All activities depend on some form of reliability for success and this seminar aims to point the way forward in this field. This seminar will provide an opportunity to understand what is meant by, and the principles behind the management of reliability.
Using case studies, the programme will outline examples of effective and ineffective applications of reliability, retrospective applications used to improve performance, methods to assess potential reliability and identify problems before they occur.
Delegates will have a chance to increase their knowledge and understanding of the many aspects of reliability; assessment, prediction, assurance, and improvement. Speakers and delegates will work through examples and case study methods, and learn to develop the product and/or service being provided, by:
• Exchanging of experiences on various projects
• Identifying optimum processes and techniques
• Enhancing future project delivery and maintenance
• Learning from others’ experience to help deal with current and future issues.
• Increase your knowledge in the field of reliability
• Understand aspects of reliability assessment and prediction
• Learn how a reliability case is constructed and managed
• Learn from the experiences of others by examining case studies
• Use reliability methods to make products and services work better the first time
