Since the original 13-station system was introduced, the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) has seen over £1bn of improvement upgrades and extensions.
Passenger growth and the ongoing regeneration of East London means that the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) has expanded from modest beginnings to a complex, fully automated transport system.
The success and expansion of the line has meant buying extra vehicles and investing in major civil engineering and signalling development to cope with longer trains and what was the ultimate test: the delivery of a key transport provider for the London 2012 Olympics.
