TECHNICAL VISITS
Once your booking is received, you will receive an email to confirm which technical visit and workshops you would like to attend.
OPTION 1
Siemens Depot & ICC Signalling Centre, York
Visit both a major signalling control centre and an operational train maintenance depot. Experience live signalling/electrical operations management in a 24 hour working environment, visiting both the control and the signalling floors. There is also the chance to examine a Class 185 Desiro, the automated route setting, lean performance monitoring and fuel point facilities.
OPTION 2
Wabtec, Doncaster
Visit Wabtec’s Doncaster works, covering overhaul and refurbishment for all types of rolling stock, from complete vehicles to systems and components.
OPTION 3
Crossrail, London
Crossrail will begin services through new tunnels under Central London in 2018. Understand more about this exciting and challenging project as well as taking a tour of the infrastructure being built and commissioned as part of Europe’s largest construction project.
