Air Crash Detective – The Role of an Industry Technical Advisor

Mike Gamlin has led the Rolls-Royce Air Safety Investigation team since 1999, he led his first accident investigation activity in 1989. Since taking the role of Manager - Air Safety Investigation Mike has developed the Rolls-Royce Air Safety Investigation Team capability to allow it to deliver world class investigation support to Safety Investigation Authorities around the world. His team act as Technical Advisors when a State led investigation is initiated. Mike will review some of the investigations that he has been involved in, consider the forensic engineering aspects of an investigation and explore the role of a Technical advisor to a Safety Investigation Authority.
Airworthiness challenges of Fielding the Wildcat Helicopter

Drawing on his own experience and those he works with, Captain Samuel Milne will unpack some of the recent airworthiness challenges of bringing Wildcat into service and deploying a new aircraft type to the desert, cold weather and maritime environments.
