Process & Power Division Graduate Evening 2017

Overview

Mechanical engineering graduates, young engineers and students need to be able to make an informed choice. The Institution of Mechanical Engineers are pleased to highlight an informal session for students and recent graduates, giving them the chance to speak with longer serving engineers and companies that can recruit and advise as they take the first step in their career.

Why attend?

• Get an insight into possible routes through the immediate post-graduate “minefield” by talking directly to mechanical engineers about their career and thus helping you to make a considered decision
• See and learn about the potential careers open to graduates, and get a better appreciation of what it is like working in the Process Industries
• Learn from the experiences of mechanical engineers who have been where you are, via short presentations from engineers talking about their experiences during the first few years of their post-graduate career, and how their career has developed since.
• Meet a number of potential employers gathered in an informal environment so that the important first contacts can be made
• Select employers for your first post-graduate post
• Learn more about the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and what it can offer you
• Increase your awareness of Incorporated/Chartered status and understand why it is a worthwhile goal
• Understand the number of different routes available to obtain Incorporated/Chartered status
