Simon Barnes: Chief Engineer PWR3, Submarines Rolls-Royce plc
Simon is the Rolls-Royce Chief Engineer for the Dreadnought PWR3 programme. He joined Rolls-Royce in 1992 after graduating with a BEng (Hons) Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Nottingham Polytechnic. Simon’s career at Rolls-Royce spans 25 years, with half of that time attributable to a number of key engineering leadership roles on the Dreadnought programme, including; Head of Engineering, Assistant Chief Engineer, Chief Development Engineer and Plant Design Manager.
Simon is a Chartered Engineer and member of the Association for Project Management. He is married, with two children, and lives in Derby. In his spare time he enjoys property development, cycling and socialising with friends and family.
