Morning
The first half of the morning sessions will include an outlook on the nuclear industry, in light of the Nuclear Sector Deal. The first part of the day will focus on infrastructure, in particular future project pipelines, finance models, cost reduction targets and fuel capabilities. This will include an update from EDF Energy Chief Executive, Simone Rossi on Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C.

Morning continued
The second half of the morning will look at finance and cost drivers, as well as innovation in the decommissioning market. We’ll also have a focus on the business environment, looking at the potential for nuclear exports, overseas markets and encouraging foreign investment in the UK industry. The final session for the morning will see Zheng Dongshan from CGN speak on the latest in Bradwell engagement, engaging supply chain, and cost reduction challenge for new build projects.
Lunch
Afternoon
After the lunch break, Duncan Hawthorne from Horizon will give an update on Wylfa, government negotiations and opportunities for future. We’ll also hear from industry on developing the UK nuclear supply chain.
The afternoon will see a special focus on people in the industry and the challenge of getting the best talent, in particular looking at the Sector Deal’s target of achieving a 40% female workforce by 2030. We’ll then look at cultivating new ideas and innovation across the sector to reduce costs, support growth across the country and contribute to the Clean Growth Grand Challenge.
The conference is set to close with a panel on the importance of technological innovation and research and development across the sector.
