Paul Ballington: Management Group, Institution of Mechanical Engineers
Board Member of the Management Group of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
Fellow of the Institute, and have an MBA from Alliance Manchester Business School.
Over 30 years’ experience in industry.
Roles in Product development, Business Development, Programme Management, Commodity Trading, Corporate Recovery and Corporate Finance.
Currently involved in Business Development in Aerospace.
Business experience in over 40 countries.
Ismail Ertürk: Senior Lecturer, The University of Manchester
Ismail Ertürk joined the Alliance Manchester Business School in January 1987, having worked previously for a merchant bank in Istanbul. From 1982-1983 he was a research fellow at Hull University. He then continued his postgraduate studies at New York University where he specialised in banking. He has taught corporate finance, bank financial management and international finance on both the School’s MBA and Executive Education programmes. In recent years his teaching reflects his research interests in financialization and financial innovation that he investigates as part of an inter-disciplinary team at CRESC at the University of Manchester. He has undertaken advisory work for companies and government institutions internationally and has developed and directed senior banking programmes for Executive Education. He has held visiting positions on Executive MBA Programmes at Stockholm School of Economics, St Petersburg, Istanbul Bilgi University, and ESCP-EAP, Paris.
Christopher Simpson: Managing Director, Simpson Associates
Christopher Simpson is Managing Director of Simpson Associates, an international engineering consultancy providing advice and support to companies in the UK, USA, Germany and other European countries on strategy, performance improvement, project management, acquisitions and other business development. He holds a number of non-executive directorships in the UK and Germany.
He has been Chief Executive with major manufacturing corporations in the UK, USA and Germany. He has in depth knowledge of Germany and is fluent in the language. His specialist areas are advanced manufacturing and financial management. He has a first degree in engineering and is a Sloan Fellow at the London Business School.
Apart from his direct business activities, he is past Chairman of the UK Manufacturing Excellence Awards (MX), a Member of the Board of MX Germany, Past Chairman and current Board Member of the Manufacturing Division and of the Management Group at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. He is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Engineers and a Freeman of the City of London.
