Webinar, Online
Overview
This Aerospace Partnership webinar will focus on the business and technical issues in the UK aerospace industry in the current environmental and political scene. The event is aimed at the Civil Sector as well as the MOD/Military field.
The backdrop to this is the current work that is going on into ‘Aviation 2050’ by the UK government, as well as forward planning activities now underway by industry e.g. Heathrow Airport and the air transport manufacturers. A key backdrop parameter is the development of sustainable aviation as part of meeting global emissions requirements.
The intention is to begin identifying issues in the future development of the UK professional and industry base. It is hoped that the webinar will inform the further participation of the three sponsoring organisations in the development of national policy, and identify areas for further joint work between the organisations to the benefit of the UK professions.
The webinar will centre on:
- Status of current air transport industry and changes needed in the next 30 years.
- Status on development of commercial aircraft & propulsion technologies to meet 2050 sustainability and carbon emissions targets.
- Status on development of air transport infrastructure to meet 2050 sustainability targets.
This is an Aerospace Partnership event and joint with the IMechE and RAeS.
