Overview
Each year, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers’ Railway Division hold s a competition of technical presentations. The competition is open to all young railway engineers including apprentices, undergraduates and those in the early stages of their career.
The competition offers a unique opportunity for young railway engineers to:
• Get noticed by presenting projects to peers, colleagues and senior managers in the industry
• Gain experience in presenting technical information and refine presentation and communication skills
• Enhance their CV and develop competences to apply for professional registration
Presentations can be about your contribution to work in any aspect of the rail industry, and describe project work, research, technical developments or novel technology. The key is to highlight your personal involvement or interest.
Winners at each regional competition will compete at the 2020 Young Engineers’ Presentation Competition Final taking place online at 5:30pm BST on 25 June 2020 for the £1,000 first prize. Two runners-up will receive £250.
