Join us for this series of webinars to build your STEM delivery confidence and toolbox brought to you by the IMechE in collaboration with Stemazing Ltd.
These sessions all include a practical element so please come prepared with the STEM activity resources to join in - this is the best way to learn how to deliver the activity yourself. You will be sent the resources list in advance of each session.
Joining instructions for the webinar will be sent to all webinar registrants via a separate email before the webinar takes place. 1200-1220 - A reminder about Safeguarding and Risk Assessment
Safeguarding and Risk Assessment are key for STEM Ambassadors. Join this session to get a reminder of the key principles you should be aware of.
1220 – 1300 – STEM Toolkit – Cork Launcher
You will need:
• Large cardboard tube (like a Pringles tube for crisps)
• Plastic bottle that will fit inside the tube
• 2 medium/large elastic bands
• Sellotape / masking tape
• Scissors
• Paper (optional)
• Pencil / pen
• 10 paper cups
Plus simpler version for young children – you will need:
• Toilet roll inner tube
• Balloon
• Scissors
• Sellotape
Alexandra Knight: Founder, STEMazing Ltd
Alex is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the IMechE with over 15 years’ experience of working in Industry. She is the Founder of Stemazing – a social enterprise dedicated to inspiration and inclusion in STEM. Alex is passionate about supporting others in STEM to shine as confident, visible role models and inspire our future generations of innovators and problem-solvers. She is also a Visiting Professor with the Royal Academy of Engineering at Brunel University London and a Trustee on the Board of the Women’s Engineering Society. Alex won the We Are The City Champions Award in 2020 for her work to champion diversity and inclusion in STEM.
