Snowdonia Aerospace Centre, Llanbedr
Overview
The UAS (Unmanned Aircraft
Systems) Challenge 2018 takes place at the Snowdonia Aerospace Centre,
Llanbedr. , where the UAS Challenge (‘Unmanned Aircraft Systems’ Challenge) for
2018 takes place. The competition this year sees 25 undergraduate teams from
leading universities here and overseas who will be taking part. This is a live
demonstration of the aircraft that have been designed and built through the
preceding 8-9 months. This year we are also working with the local schools to invite
60 students (11-14 year olds) to come on site and take a tour of the team
pit-stops, view the flying and do a STEM engagement activity of their own on
the day.
We have launched an art
competition and short story competition for 7-11 Y/O and 11-14 Y/Os in the
months leading up to the event and will name and crown winners on the day.
