Regulations are changing to use Real Driving Emissions (RDE) testing methods in 2017, meaning that there is increasing pressure on automotive engineers to reduce the emissions that new vehicles produce. This half-day interactive workshop will offer an open forum for technical discussion about the current challenges facing the automotive industry.
Core issues to be addressed include the technical challenges facing engineers in meeting emissions targets and the role that engine testing the corresponding technology plays in this.
With a key opening presentation from the testing regulator and industry specialists in emissions testing, this pre-seminar workshop will highlight the specialist challenges in remaining compliant whilst ensuring a high level of engine performance.
Attend this workshop to:
• Hear about incoming changes to regulation and how this will impact the engineering community
• Learn about the change from emission testing in lab conditions to testing using Portable Emission Measurements Systems (PEMS) in real-world scenarios
• Engage in exclusive round-table discussions on the latest issues facing the automotive industry
• Discuss solutions to address emissions reduction and to ensure targets are met
• Network with thought leaders in engine testing and compliance
• Learn how the industry is improving testing methods to comply with emissions regulations
Key topics:
• Hear about the change from the New European Drive Cycle (NEDC) to Real Driving Emissions (RDE) testing and how this impacts the role of engineers
• Learn from key industry thought leaders including Ford Motors, MAHLE Powertrain and Ricardo on the latest developments in emissions and performance testing
• Discuss the technical challenges in meeting industry emissions targets whilst maintaining engine performance
• Take part in a panel discussion on engine testing methods, including current procedures and simulation testing for emissions
