Institution of Mechanical Engineers, London
Overview
This workshop is aimed at stakeholders who may be able to
influence the potential for, and uptake of, community-scale and community-owned
projects, including project developers, local government, electricity
distribution network operators, electricity supply companies, financiers, UK
government, support agencies and relevant NGOs.
The event will include a few short presentations to stimulate
discussion, but will mainly comprise interactive workshop sessions that will
draw on the experience, knowledge and perspective of all participants. Round-table
discussions will be held on specific themes associated with community renewable
energy projects, which will inform an upcoming IMechE report to government covering
the sector. We hope the spread of
experience in the room will stimulate some interesting and useful discussion.
