Global new investment in alternative energy and low-carbon technologies reached $148.4bn in 2007, a 60% increase from 2006. And despite the impact of the credit crisis slowing investment in 2008, the first half of the year still saw levels of above that which was seen in the first half of 2007. Indeed, by 2012 it is estimated that global investment in alternative energy will reach $450 billion per year, before rising to more than $600 billion a year from 2020. With the alternative energy market continuing to mature and attract huge investment, it therefore continues to yield greater results for investors – a positive cycle which must continue if targets for increases in renewables and efficiency are to be met.
The Institution of Mechanical Engineers would therefore like to invite you to our third one-day networking event designed to bring investors together with alternative energy companies. With leading investors, engineers and scientists providing updates on the latest alternative energy technologies and investment potential, this event will be a comprehensive guide to investing in the alternative energy sector.
This event will once again focus on delegate interaction via discussion suites. These networking opportunities will be interspersed with key presentations by leading alternative energy companies, investors and advisors. A networking lunch and an evening drinks reception will provide further opportunities for discussion.
