Richard Farquhar: Powertrain Director, McLaren Automotive
Richard Farquhar is Powertrain Director at McLaren Automotive and Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, who graduated with a Masters’ Degree in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering.
Providing leadership for powertrain strategy and technology, alongside project delivery, Richard is responsible for all high performance powertrain engineering at McLaren Automotive across gasoline engines, transmission and driveline, hybrid and electric drive systems and powertrain CAE, test and development. Following vehicle and powertrain engineering positions at Lotus Cars and Engineering, for the past 12 years Richard has been responsible for the production powertrains in all of McLaren’s Sports, Super and Ultimate Series road cars, including the 12C, 650S, 675LT, P1 and 570S.
