Institution of Mechanical Engineers, London
Engage with market leaders at the forefront of using turbine technologies for tidal projects and adress the challenges encountered in getting key tidal power projects coming online
Held at the Institution's London headquarters, the latest Thomas Lowe Gray Lecture lecture combines a case study presentation about how new turbine technologies are being used for power generation. Attendees will gain technical insights into the challenges being faced from an engineering perspective and how industry leaders are overcoming these issues.
Tidal turbine systems technology presents a number of interesting engineering challenges, driven by the harsh environment in which those systems are deployed. Atlantis Resources’ Turbines and Engineering has mastered those challenges with the AR1500 turbine system; a system where no one engineering discipline applies in isolation, and where mechanical optimisation is crucial.
