This webinar will give you insights, tools and models to support your transition into your first line management or leadership role and help you recognise some key concepts in creating high performing teams.
Many engineers have enormous potential to lead organisations and teams and also make a difference in society. However, in order to really fulfil this potential it is important to recognise what leadership is and understands some of the barriers that might get in the way of transitioning to full leadership capacity.
This webinar will explore some of the personal barriers facing individuals moving into first line management or leadership roles and introduce some tools and models that can help support this transition. It will then look at some of the wider issues around supporting team performance as a team leader and exploring some of the challenges of leading virtual teams.

Steve Holloway: Executive Coach & Leadership Development Consultant, Stretch People Development Ltd
Steve is an experienced Executive Coach, Leadership Development Consultant and Chartered Mechanical Engineer combining academic rigour with significant private and corporate experience.
He has an MSc in Executive coaching from Ashridge Business School and is an Ashridge Accredited Coach. As such he is skilled at supporting delivery of hard, outcome-focussed objectives whilst also able to exploring more subjective, ‘soft’ behavioural and mind-set shifts.
As a Coach and Leadership Development Consultant Steve has worked with leaders at all levels in a range of sectors including NHS, Public sector, FMCG, Civil Engineering and telematics. His specialities include developing leadership capacity, leading through change, leading teams, culture change, career development and organisational alignment. He also works with intact teams to support organisational performance.
In his corporate roles Steve had a variety of senior roles in Manufacturing, Sales & Marketing and Learning & Development managing many multi-million pound, cross-cultural and cross-functional projects. Steve brings this real world corporate experience to his coaching and facilitating practice and is easily able to build trust with clients by recognising and empathising with the challenges facing Executives and Senior Leaders.
