The Institution of Mechanical Engineers' Safety and Reliability Group warmly invite you to its ISO 26262 and Autonomous Vehicles Lecture, which will take place at the Institution's London headquarters on 14 June.
This year's keynote presentation will focus on the challenges of developing highly assisted and autonomous vehicles with regards to the ISO 26262 functional safety standard. The lecture will discuss the content of the standard and discuss its relevance to the development of the mechanical systems that are controlled by the electrical/electronic systems.
The challenges of developing highly assisted and autonomous vehicles will also be discussed in the light of ISO 26262, a functional safety standard for the development of electrical/electronic system. Roger Rivett: Functional Safety Technical Specialist, Jaguar Land Rover
Roger Rivett has worked in the automotive industry for over 35 years on real-time embedded-systems and is currently a Functional Safety Technical Specialist in Jaguar Land Rover responsible for embedding functional safety processes and practices within the company. He is the chairman of MISRA and a member of the ISO working group that has produced the automotive functional safety standard ISO26262. He is a Chartered Engineer and a fellow of the IET. He has an MSc in Software Engineering from Oxford University and is currently studying for an Engineering Doctorate at York University.
