Overview
On 24 November 2014 at One Birdcage Walk. the Thameslink Programme will be put under the microscope and assessed, from the challenges of implementation to the successes to date.
The £4.5bn Network Rail Thameslink Infrastructure Programme is a key component of the overall £6.5bn Thameslink Programme. Work on key output 1 finished in 2012 with the opening of the upgraded stations at Farringdon and Blackfriars and the introduction of 12 car trains on the Bedford to Brighton route.
The focus is now on London Bridge with the re-building of the station and the re-configuration of the track and signalling to provide additional capacity with a segregated route for the Thameslink service. This is supplemented by power supply upgrades, the fit-out of the canal tunnels that link the Thameslink core area with the East Coast Main Line, construction of new stabling sites and the deployment of ETCS and ATO for the core area.
The lecture will cover the current status of the works and a look ahead to what will be delivered to enable the final programme outputs in 2018.
This FREE lecture will be presented by:
Matthew Lodge, Deputy Director, Thameslink, Department for Transport
Simon Blanchflower, Project Director, Thameslink, Network Rail

Registration with refreshments will take place from 17:15.
