Overview
Following the large tunnel dug by Crossrail, soil from this was taken over the Thames to create a wildlife reserve in conjunction with RSPB. Crossrail carried out this coastal protection initiative to help improve the public opinion about their project and its effect on the environment.
Andrew Wolstenholme, CEO, Crossrail, will present alongside Dr. Mike Clark, CEO, RSPB, to highlight the ways in which the Crossrail project is considering the environment whilst developing the line and rail infrastructure.
Both Andrew and Mike will focus on this recent project and give an in-depth explanation on its design, development and results.
This lecture will take place on 16 June and is free and open to all. It will provide a fantastic case study for any engineers with an interest in management, leadership and project planning.
Attendees of Innovation for Tomorrow's Railway: Young Engineers' Railway Seminar 2016 are expected to attend.
