Overview
Following the Government's commitment to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, hydrogen is stated to play a role an energy vector in the reduction of emissions from power, transport, and industrial sectors.
In March 2023, we hosted the third annual Engineering Challenges in the Hydrogen Economy conference which provided engineers with a platform to discuss common engineering challenges, applications, and strategies. As more projects move from concept to demonstration and commercial scale, there is a need to continue the discussion, share lessons learned and identify the role of the mechanical engineer.
This conference is an opportunity for engineers to identify challenges across the hydrogen value chain including production, distribution, storage, and utilisation. Hydrogen can be a useful part of the energy system, but engineers must understand the inherent challenges before it can be used effectively, and at scale, in a net-zero future energy economy.
Join this conference to:
- Hear case studies from mature projects addressing infrastructure challenges for production, storage and distribution
- Identify bottlenecks and barriers in moving to a hydrogen economy
- Develop your understanding of the utilisation across different engineering sectors including rail, heavy-duty, aerospace, power generation, marine and more
- Hear from leading experts in the field and explore opportunities to collaborate on new projects
- Gain insight into gaps in the market and requirements for new technology
- Take away lessons learned from other innovative companies to ensure optimal development strategies
- Understand how your existing equipment or products can be deployed in the new hydrogen economy
