Overview
The IMechE is delighted to announce the next Boiler User Group 2023 to once more bring together the engineers, designers, operators, service providers and safety professionals together in one unique forum.
The 2023 Boiler User Group will continue within the context of aiming for a zero-carbon future and address key topics around energy from waste, CCS and alternative fuels.
The user group will address issues relating to all aspects of the design, operation, maintenance and integrity of boilers (fired boiler plant associated with power generation or industrial process steam). This will cover a wide scope of plant areas and fuels, including waste, biomass, fossil and other fuels.
The 2023 user group will also consider the ongoing importance of energy security concerns in relation to availability, affordability and reliability.
WHY YOU NEED TO ATTEND:
- Technical, peer-reviewed presentations with success stories and lessons learned from those at the cutting edge of industry
- Remain compliant with legislation by understanding operational best practice
- Ensure your assets stay competitive by hearing different approaches to plant modification, conversion, upgrading, fuel choice and retrofitting
- Network with a dedicated community of industry thought-leaders and budget holders involved with the design, construction, operation and maintenance of power plants
- Learn about new technologies and techniques to overcome engineering challenges across conventional and energy from waste power plants, carbon capture and more

"It is important for engineers to come together to learn from each other to ensure progression of the sector. This is so important to save the sector money and make sure we don’t all make the same mistakes. This will help the sector be more acceptable to the public, gain a greater confidence from investors and allow the industry to deal with one of our biggest problems – waste as well as producing electricity or future fuels."
Mark Roberts, Head of Engineering, Bioenergy Infrastructure Group
