Each year, the Young Engineers and Apprentices Railway Seminar (YEARS) provides those new to the rail industry with valuable insights into the current developments of the industry. YEARS also provides an opportunity to network with peers from across the industry and foster a more collaborative approach to solving problems in the future. 2020 has seen unprecedented changes to the lives of everyone due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Young engineers and apprentices just starting in the industry in these uncertain times will of course be wondering how their careers and prospects in the industry may be impacted. Adapting to the changes and restrictions brought about by COVID-19, the IMechE Railway Division Young Members have curated a series of virtual events for the postponed YEARS 2020 to continue to provide the young engineers and apprentices in the rail industry a platform to broaden their knowledge of the industry through interactive webinars & workshops and invaluable networking opportunities – at even more affordable prices then before; there is no better event than YEARS.
