Overview
The availability of an asset or system of assets is a key metric for its operators and users. In order to achieve near 100% availability, engineers must consider the full range of factors which impact performance.
The achievement of a fit for purpose design comes from a clear understanding and agreement of the needs of the user. To realise the goal of 100% availability, these requirements must first be understood by all involved in their design, installation, operation, and maintenance. The main contributors of Reliability, Maintainability and Supportability must be designed in; they cannot be added on or inspected and tested in afterwards without considerable expense.
This seminar will help engineers engaged at all levels of the asset lifecycle by examining why availability is important, how it may be achieved and managed, who is responsible, and how it is demonstrated. It will feature a series of case studies drawn from experts across a breadth of engineering sectors, shining a light on the potential for new technologies and processes to maximise availability for asset owners. Furthermore, it is an opportunity to connect with innovators at the forefront of asset management, design, and maintenance, to access their unique insights and deepen your understanding of reliability.
This seminar will cover:
- What people understand by availability, how it is defined, why it is important, how it relates to their own and their organisation’s activities and how it can be achieved
- The threats to achieving high or 100% availability – reliability, frequency of operation, evironment, mainternance regime, new technology, new materials, storage, obsolescence, etc.
- How and why the design of systems or equipment should be approached and organised
- How availability may be managed and demonstrated in various production and use activities
Attend this seminar to:
- Gain the insight needed to develop and refine strategies for maximising the availability of assets
- Learn more about the impact of digital technologies on your role and responsibilities
- Identify opportunities to operate assets in a more sustainable and cost-effective manner
- Equip yourself with the knowledge to get the most out of existing equipment – reducing the cost of maintenance or further capital expenditure
- Make better decisions about where to invest in new technology to improve performance and reliability
- Prepare for the transition to a net-zero carbon economy by reducing waste throughout the asset lifecycle
- How availability may be managed and demonstrated in various production and use activities
