The 6th Carbon Budget will introduce a legally binding cap on UK territorial emissions for the mid-2030s. Crucially, it is the first 6th Carbon Budget set since the UK’s Net-Zero target was legislated, in 2019. Meeting this budget is therefore a critical step on the pathway to Net-Zero.
In this webinar presentation, Mike will present an overview of the CCC’s recommendation to Government on the 6th Carbon Budget (2033-2037), together with a summary of the CCC’s scenario analysis that informed the budget level, the costs and benefits of the budget, and policy recommendations on how to achieve this.
