Gain insight into the role of Phase Change Materials in the development of latent energy storage – including cutting-edge developments to improve efficiency.
Production of energy from clean and renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power depends on weather conditions and are thus often intermittent. This poses limits on the reliance and – ultimately – the extensive deployment of these energy sources.
Latent Thermal Energy Storage will play a fundamental role in the effective deployment of renewable energy technologies as it provides the much-needed continuity in supply provided by clean but intermittent energy sources. Current LTES technology is still in its infancy and significant improvements are needed to increase the efficiency of these systems before they become truly part of the energy supply chain.
This webinar, presented by Dr Simone Mancin from the University of Padova in Italy, will present an overview of this technology, its advantages over other forms of energy production and will conclude by showing the results of the latest advances in the field.
