Following the successful return to a live, in-person format, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers is proud to announce the Steam Turbine and Generator User Group 2023 on 15-16 March 2023,returning to the Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester.
Whether you are involved in the operation, design, maintenance, service or upgrading of steam turbine or generator assets, the User Group is THE forum for engineers and professionals to meet, network and learn from the shared experience of the Steam Turbine and Generator community.
Join two days of technical presentations, panel discussions and Q&A sessions to get a thorough understanding of the current landscape, together with all the latest technical and regulatory developments affecting the operation, inspections, maintenance and upgrade of your engineering assets.
Peer-reviewed Ppresentations from engineering end-users, manufacturers, service provides and experts will share technical details, best practice and lessons-learned from recent projects, enabling you to effectively benchmark your organisation and take back valuable insights to ensure your organisation maximises output, increases safety and minimises plant downtime.

HOW TO SUBMIT
Your summary should outline the contents of a
20 minute presentation and should include the
following information:
- Your full name and contact details
- A working title for your presentation
- A 150 word summary of the topic/case study
that you intend to cover and its application
within industry

COVID-19 SAFETY:
STUG2023 is COVID-safe: We are keen to return to in-person events and enjoy the benefits of connecting face to face. Whilst Covid-19 continues to circulate in the UK, we are taking steps with the venue to keep event participants as safe as possible in order to attend IMechE events with the confidence.
Physical distancing Attendees are requested to maintain a distance of 1m+ from each other. Where possible, room layouts and seating will be arranged to facilitate this.
Masks / face coverings The wearing of masks/face coverings is encouraged (although not compulsory), unless satisfactory social distancing, ventilation or air sterilisation is not possible, in which case it will be compulsory.
Covid testing Attendees are requested to undertake a Covid test (lateral flow or PCR) a maximum of 24 hours prior to the start of the event/meeting.
Ventilation and air sterilisation Where possible, rooms will be well ventilated or fitted with air sterilisers to significantly reduce the risk of transmission.
Catering Where possible, catering will be provided in such a format as to facilitate social distancing.
