Overview
Following from the popular event held in 2019, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers is proud to announce the next iteration of the Lifecycle of Pressure Systems 2023 event, a comprehensive two days of updates that brings together every area of the pressure systems community.
Don't miss this “state of the industry” designed to update all those involved with pressure systems and equipment and for all asset stages: from design and installation to daily operation and decommissioning.
Peer-reviewed presentations and case studies will discuss how engineers across multiple industry sectors are enhancing the installation, upgrading, maintenance, inspections, testing and safety of their pressure assets.
Panel discussions will give this specialist engineering community the chance to put their most pressing questions to engineering thought leaders, enabling the discussion of potential solutions to common challenges facing all involved.
Join your peers this October and benefit from networking and knowledge sharing and take away key guidance and successful strategies that will enable your organisation to comply with the latest legislation and enhance cost-effectiveness of your existing budgets.

WHY OUR SPEAKERS ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO THE EVENT:
 |
"The conference is a great opportunity to interface with those from varied industries and sectors, see what’s on the horizon and understand how it may influence the way we work, and from my perspective, lead to increased safety."
David Glass, Health and Safety Executive

"More relevant to my current role are presentations from the regulator, and other industry bodies, such as SAFed, BCGA and PVMf, all of whom we frequently work with in this area. On the other hand, at a large event I try to attend sessions out of my usual field to learn something new... the field itself is constantly developing, and methods and techniques improving. Without that learning across the field, there is a risk that the same mistakes will be repeated, again and again. Not taking an opportunity to reduce the risk of harm caused by plant under your care would be a huge mistake. Plus, it should be enjoyable – and there are not many activities that will both advance your career and are fun."
Stefan Kukula, EEMUA

"The programme looks good, so it is hard to pick out a favorite. But it’s always good to hear from other speakers in related fields. From experience I know you will always learn something new you can take away for the benefit of your own organization and clients....A conference like this helps engineers keep pace and prepare for those challenges emerging right now and for the future."
Rob Johnson, Director, AXIOM

"I am genuinely interested to hear from all speakers, as they are the ones who will inspire and shape future pressure systems in the development of power generation. This conference brings together two key areas that will directly affect the future mechanical engineering technologies. Net Zero and maintenance of the pressure equipment. Those who join this conference will be able to promote and secure our future energy delivery."
Paul Grady, Health and Safety Executive

"I’m looking forward to hearing from David Nash, from Strathclyde University, he has a wealth of knowledge and always delivers an interesting talk. Also, the folks at TWI, they are always on the cutting edge of welding techniques. Conferences such as this one, are a great place to gain new knowledge and speak with likeminded people who are often facing the same challenges as you. I’m looking forward to meeting new contacts and exchanging knowledge."
Alex Berry, Phillips 66 Humber refinery

"I am looking forward to hearing from Professor David Nash, he has such a great knowledge of the past and understanding of the current and emerging technologies in the pressure systems world that allow him to have a clear vision of the developing trends...Pressure systems are at the forefront of the transition to sustainable energy: from green energy production, to increased lifespan and efficiency of the existing assets, to reduction in waste and optimisation of the whole system operation. This conference provides a broad view of the life cycle of the pressure systems and would be beneficial to anyone involved in: design, manufacture, operation, maintenance or decommissioning of pressure systems."
