Engineering that moves the world

GKN is a global engineering group. Every day we drive the wheels of hundreds of millions of cars, we help thousands of aircraft to fly, we deliver the power to move earth and harvest crops, and we make essential components for industries that touch lives across the globe.

Approximately 48,000 people work in GKN companies and joint ventures around the world. Together we use our footprint in over 30 countries, harnessing our technology and our considerable manufacturing resources, to supply the highest quality systems, structures, components and services.

We have four operating divisions: GKN Driveline and GKN Powder Metallurgy that focus on the automotive market; GKN Aerospace; and GKN Land Systems. Every division is a market leader, each outperforming its markets, giving unrivalled expertise and experience in delivering cutting-edge technology and engineering to our global customers.

The MATLAB and Simulink product families are fundamental computational tools at the world's educational institutions. Adopted by more than 5000 universities and colleges, MathWorks products accelerate the pace of learning, teaching, and research in engineering and science. MathWorks products also help prepare students for careers in industry worldwide, where the tools are widely used for collaborative new product development.

Employing a Model-Based Design approach to automotive design process for the Formula Student Competition enables teams to design, test, validate and share their models within one environment.  Competitions like Formula Student present a unique engineering challenge that requires months of intense focus and hard work. Using industry-standard tools such as MATLAB and Simulink helps students tackle real engineering problems and acquire the collaboration, time-management, and leadership skills they will need for careers in industry.
